50 New Things

This year I'm going to try to do at least 50 things I've never done before (I did not come up with this idea...but they say imitation is the highest form of flattery ;-). If you have ideas, feel free to make suggestions. I'll document them on the list below, with links if possible.

  • 36. Played craps and roulette for the first time at a casino.
  • 35. Visited the world's largest bead store (Shipwreck Beads).
  • 34. Drove over a floating bridge
  • 33. Flew in a helicopter!!
  • 32. Visited Mount St. Helen's - wanted to see this for the past 30 yrs
  • 31. Visited Berkeley Pit (giant polluted copper mine in Butte MN)
  • 30. Visited the Badlands (and loved it!!
  • 29. Visited my first Buffalo jump site (Vore Buffalo Jump)
  • 28. Saw the world's biggest Corn Palace
  • 27. Drove a travel trailer from South Bend to Seattle.
  • 26. Drove an RV
  • 25. Went to a vineyard and wine tasting (Satek Winery)
  • 24. Read my first e-book using the Kindle app on iPad. Advantages & disadvantages over print. Jury's still out...
  • 23. Ate Char
  • 22. Skyped a dissertation defense
  • 21. Twitter-ed (tweet-ed??)
  • 20. Skyped!
  • 19. Had my first on-line internet help chat with a company (my mortgage holder). Yep, I come rushing into the 21st century...10 years late ;-)
  • 18. Had ratatouille for the first time. Yum.
  • 17. Filled out my first census form.
  • 16. Used one of the PCs in a DeBartolo classroom. First time ever, and I'm not proud of it ;-)
  • 15. Watched Congress pass a national health care bill!!
  • 14. Called and emailed my Congressman
  • 13. Visited Luxor & Karnak
  • 12. Made homemade horseradish sauce (mmm mmm good)
  • 11. Drank my first Stella beer
  • 10. Went in several tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens
  • 9. Took a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and Hatsutchep's Temple; watched the sun rise over Luxor
  • 8. Had breakfast on the Nile
  • 7. Visited the Cairo Museum
  • 6. Saw the Giza Pyramids
  • 5. Walked out on a hotel bill in Muscat Oman because it was such a dump and they tried to rob us. Look for me on Oman's Most Wanted ;-)
  • 4. Drove a car thru the mountains of Oman
  • 3. Went to High Tea at the Burj al Arab, a 7-star restaurant
  • 2. Saw my first real sand dunes
  • 1. Visited 6 of 7 of the Emirates of the UAE
