Oldest Church ??

I forgot this in the 'Random Bytes' on Saturday. Pretty cool discovery, tho' in need of much more work. While I would not pick Steve Pfann as the first person to interview for this, the article does raise some interesting points:

What's wrong with Steve Pfann?

Dear Professor,
Did you know that bats aren't blind and the oldest American Methodist Church in continual use is Old Otterbein in Baltimore, Maryland in the shadow of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The oldest American Catholic Cathedral is also in Baltimore, however it is no longer a Cathedral - now it is a Basilica. It is located on Cathedral Street.
Another interesting fact is the first born child to Richard and Patricia Guise was born in Augusta, Georgia and has always been a little peach. Yes it was 46 years ago tomorrow.
Love
Sven

Thank you for the Baltimore history lesson Sven. You know a lot about Maryland for a person living in Scandinavia.
