Today was the first day of class...and already we had our first trouble with the Student Employment office (I figured those of you from last year's NSF program would appreciate that). Arrrrgggggh!!Lunch at Lula's, an introduction to the lab, employment paperwork, IDs and a tour of campus by Shannon. Tomorrow things start up in earnest. This year the students are staying in an air-conditioned dorm set up specifically for all the REU students on campus (over 100). Nice change from past years. Here's a photos of the new group...not that you can really see much save the fact that they are really on ND's campus.
