50 New Things
This year I'm going to try to do at least 50 things I've never done before (I did not come up with this idea...but they say imitation is the highest form of flattery ;-). If you have ideas, feel free to make suggestions. I'll document them on the list below, with links if possible.
36. Played craps and roulette for the first time at a casino.
35. Visited the world's largest bead store (Shipwreck Beads).
34. Drove over a floating bridge
33. Flew in a helicopter!!
32. Visited Mount St. Helen's - wanted to see this for the past 30 yrs
Today Sarah, Laura, Shannon and Katie gave their first professional presentations. Pictures of each follow. Afterwards we went to a GREAT German restaurant for some Bavarian eats. Tast-ee. Issa joined us, as did Robin (fresh in from Germany as it turns out). Tomorrow we attend a few talks, a luncheon, and then make the drive home. And then sleep, alot!
Thanks for the family photos. I knew I could depend on you to include her for me. Nice to see she made it through the extractions just fine. Impressive posters! But then ND does nothing less than impressive. Do I live with a member of the cult who daily tries to brainwash me or what?

The posters look fantastic!! And so does the restaurant--I would probably trade one of my limbs for some German (or any other kind of) food right now.
Congratulations to everyone on their first presentations!
What a good TA, congratulating your crew of students!
And the restaurant, kinda remined me of the place in Kutna Hora just a wee bit. Not sure why, maybe the heavy (but tasty) food.

I think the brainwashing is complete ;-)
Taking her picture BTW, was done with much moaning. Not that I'm exactly one to talk -- you'll notice I managed to stay out of the line of sight...
